What is Scentsy?

Scentsy is privately owned and also a member of the  (DSA) and named one of the fastest growing companies in 2011 by Inc. 500 List.  Scentsy has proved to be a solid company entering into its 8th year in business.  This year Scentsy is extending their Scentsy Product Line with Layers by Scentsy (bath and body products) and coming out with a whole new line called Veleta.

For those of you who have not heard of Scentsy it is a direct sales company.  Scentsy was founded in 2004 and is currently owned by Thomas Orville and his wife Heidi Thompson.  You can sell and buy Scentsy products in the United States,  including Guam & Puerto Rico, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany.    

About Scentsy Products

•  Scentsy - are made of high quality ceramic and uses an electric heating system to slowly melt the scentsy wax bars to help melt the wax cooler and slower increasing the fragrance lifetime.  The warmers use a 25-15 watt light bulb depending on the size to melt the wax.
• Scentsy Bars - scented wax blended with scent to produce the strong long lasting scent that lasts up to 80 hours.
• Room Sprays, Scent Circles, Travel Tins, Fragrance Foam, Scentsy Buddy, Fine Fragrance and more
• Starting March 1 Scentsy will have Scentsy bath and body products for consultants & laundry care products called   Layers by Scentsy. 

Scentsy diffidently has a selection of products they offer a wide selection of candle warmers and over 80 different scents for their wax bars for customers to choose from.  If you have ever tried Scentsy you know the products are quality products.  To join Scentsy you have to have $99 and you get a Scentsy Starter Kit.

So far sounds good right?  Start your own business, be your own boss, work your own hours.  

You make up to 30% off your own sales as well as additional bonuses on other consultants that you sponsor.   Scentsy offers you a website it is free for the 1st 3 months after that it is $10 a month so you can reach friends and family that live somewhere else, and even begin networking.  Scentsy does allow you to run your business the way you want to if you do not want to host parties that is your choice like most direct sales companies you are free to run it  the way you want.  If you decide to leave Scentsy there is no cancellation fee or anything of that nature.  To remain an active consultant you need to sell $150 in personal retail volume in a given month, (off your own sales)

How does the Scentsy Compensation Plan work?

There is different levels with Scentsy starting out you are considered a Essential Consultant and make 20% off of only your sales.  There are various way to get paid inside the Compensation Plan

• Retail Profits - Your own sales through parties, friends, family or online sales
• Bonuses from Scentsy 
• Advancing into a Leadership Role - Building a team of Scentsy Consultants
• Building large teams and having a down line of active Scentsy Consultants

The bigger the team you build the more you will make, when you have a lot of consultants selling product you have large sales volume.  

What I think about Scentsy and Making Money 

I think one can make money Selling Scentsy Products the money is able to be made.  I think you can get what you want out of Scentsy.  Do you want a part time job or full time maybe just a discount.  I do not think Scentsy is a get rich quick business opportunitiy that we all would love it to be but then again nothing is everything takes time and work.  Scentsy has top of the line products and people already love Scentsy Products.  The company keeps on growing and introducing more product lines which makes selling Scentsy easier than ever before.  If you are looking to join Scentsy I would say now is the time with the launch of the new Scentsy line Layers by Scentsy, Veleta and I have heard of yet another product line coming out in Aug 2012.  If you are willing to put time into your Scentsy business from my research I personally do not belive that Scentsy will let you down.  

Scentsy has been around since 2004 and growing like crazy getting reps and growing their product line I think it is safe to say they are going to stick around.  Most direct sales companies do not last 5 years unless they are going to be around long term and Scentsy has passed that with flying colors.   So if you are looking for a good company that offers room for growth and the ability to run your own home based business I would say Scentsy would be at the top of my list!
